BAAO-Children-Youth Choir

Der Baao Children and Youth Choir ist in der Stadt Baao in der Provinz Camarines Sur auf den
Philippinen beheimatet und wird derzeit von Emmanuel Ramos II geleitet.

2012 entstanden wir aus Mitgliedern des Baao Children´s Choir und des Baao Youth Choir, die
beide 2010 und 2011 zweimal den ersten Preis beim nationalen Musikwettbewerb für junge
Künstler gewonnen haben. Die Gruppe verfügt über ein umfangreiches Repertoire aus
verschiedenen Genres und Stilen von ausländischen und einheimischen Komponisten und
Arrangeuren. Sie hat die Philippinen bei internationalen Chorwettbewerben vertreten.

Im Jahr 2012 gewannen wir den 1. Preis beim 18. Certamen Internacional Juvenil De
Habaneras in Torrevieja, Spanien, und waren damit der erste außereuropäische Chor, der in
den letzten neunundzwanzig Jahren bei diesem Wettbewerb gewonnen hat.
Zwei Jahre später, 2015, gewannen wir beim Busan Choral Festival and Competition in
Busan, Südkorea, den ersten Preis in der Kategorie "Jugend" und den zweiten Platz in der
Kategorie "Ethnisch".

2017 nahmen wir auch am 70th Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Llangollen,
Wales, teil, wo wir den dritten Preis in den Kategorien „Children´s Folk Song“ und „Senior
Children´s Choir“ gewannen.

Darüber hinaus nahmen wir an verschiedenen internationalen Festivals teil und gaben
Konzerte in Malaysia, Spanien, Südkorea, den Vereinigten Staaten, Mexiko und dem
Vereinigten Königreich. Im Mai 2023 absolvierten wir unsere siebte internationale Tournee
durch Europa und besuchten die Schweiz, Deutschland und Frankreich.
Mit ihren nationalen und internationalen Erfolgen hat das BCYC im Laufe der Jahre zahlreiche
Auszeichnungen und Anerkennungen von lokalen und nationalen Preisverleihern erhalten,
darunter den renommierten Ani ng Dangal Award der National Commission for Culture and
the Arts (NCCA).

The Baao Children and Youth Choir is based in the city of Baao in the province of Camarines Sur in the Philippines. Philippines and is currently directed by Emmanuel Ramos II.

We were formed in 2012 from members of the Baao Children´s Choir and the Baao Youth Choir, who both won first prize twice at the national music competition for young artists in 2010 and 2011. Young Artists Music Competition. The group has an extensive repertoire of different genres and styles by foreign and local composers and arrangers. It has represented the Philippines in international choral competitions.

In 2012, we won 1st prize at the 18th Certamen Internacional Juvenil De Habaneras in Torrevieja, Spain, making us the first non-European choir to win in the non-European choir to win this competition in the last twenty-nine years. Two years later, in 2015, we won the Busan Choral Festival and Competition in Busan, South Korea, where we won first prize in the "Youth" category and second place in the "Ethnic" category.

In 2017, we also took part in the 70th Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales, where we won third prize in the categories "Children´s Folk Song" and "Senior Children´s Choir" categories.

We also took part in various international festivals and gave concerts in Malaysia, Spain, South Korea, the United States, Mexico and the United Kingdom. In May 2023, we completed our seventh international tour through Europe, visiting Switzerland, Germany and France. With their national and international successes over the years, the BCYC has received numerous awards and recognitions from local and national award-giving bodies, including the prestigious Ani ng Dangal Award from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).
